Avidicare’s new ventilation laboratory was officially opened 26th of April with invited guests and speakers. The days started with a number of lectures which highlighted modern demands and requirements on hospital hygiene, the need for minimizing airborne particles and different ways of measuring these particles. The lectures also covered trends regarding hospital construction (with focus on operating theatres) and surgical methods.
The new hyper-modern laboratory was officially opened by Erik von Schenck, Avidicare’s Chairman. Inside the laboratory, Avidicare’s staff demonstrated Opragon’s effectiveness by using smoke and special lighting.
The day concluded with a visit at Lund’s University Hospital where the delegates were shown Opragon installations in the hybrid room, the orthopedic operation theatre and the preparation room for sterile instrument.
”This new laboratory is a necessary component for us to continue to develop Opragon and future Avidicare products. The first goal is to make Opragon compliant with the German DIN 1946-4 standard and the new laboratory makes it possible for us to perform the same tests used when validated new operating theatres in Germany.” says Peter Ekolind, CEO at Avidicare. “We have used the latest technology and this is probably the most modern ventilation laboratory in Europe.”
